Distant Echo started life, in early 1992, as "One Stick Short of a Drummer" over a Guinness or two in the Wheatsheaf pub in Tooting.
Micky T was on drums, Noel Fox on Guitar and Chris Scopes on bass.
After growing tired of playing "standard" covers and Noel leaving to tour Ireland with Eric Clapton, they decided on a name change and to play only songs they loved, hoping the crowd would follow. The first band Mick ever saw was the Clash and for Chris it was the Jam. Songs by these two bands would be the cornerstones to the set. After a year as a duo, working on a set, Distant Echo became a band when guitarist Michael Chan joined in 2007. A year later when guitarist Jim Quantrell joined, Michael added further to the sound of the band by playing keyboards on some tracks.
With the Specials and Madness covers providing the last part of the jigsaw, Distant Echo 2009 arrived!
Since then they have played in pubs and clubs in and around London.
